Connect on Windows

Install the EXE and connect your PC

1. Install the app

Check the system type in Windows Settings → System → About. An x64 build does not establish ARM64 support. Match your system to the catalog card; installation requires administrator permissions.

  1. Select Windows in the catalog and download the EXE from the official source. Open the downloaded file.
  2. Follow the installer: Next, then Install. Approve the Windows prompt only for the AmneziaVPN installer you selected. If device policy prevents installation, contact its administrator.
  3. Wait for installation to finish, save your open documents and restart the computer. Open AmneziaVPN from the Start menu.

2. Copy your key

On the device you want to connect, sign in to your Nezapret account. Find your issued access: a regular VPN subscription or the key for the intended VIP device. Press Copy and wait for Copied.

An Amnezia key can be very long. Do not retype it or copy only the visible portion. If the browser blocks copying, use the full-key field that appears: select all its contents and copy manually.

Inside the field, use Ctrl+A / Ctrl+C on a PC, Command+A / Command+C on a Mac, or Select all and Copy on a phone. Switch directly to AmneziaVPN so another copied item does not replace the key.

The key grants access to your connection. Keep it out of screenshots, support requests and public chats. If no key has been issued, check your order status and contact support.

3. Add the connection

  1. Open AmneziaVPN. Use + to add a connection, or Get Started on the first launch.
  2. Use Paste in the key field and check that it is populated. Allow clipboard paste if the system asks. Do not edit the key contents.
  3. Press Continue, then Connect. If a system VPN prompt appears, approve it for AmneziaVPN.

For a key issued by Nezapret, use connection import. You do not need a server address, root password or your own server setup.

4. Check the connection

  • Wait for the app to indicate an established connection. If it keeps connecting or shows an error, use the troubleshooting section below.
  • Open several different websites in your browser. A VPN icon alone does not confirm that the intended traffic passes through it. Remember your split-tunneling settings: excluded apps or websites may use a direct connection.
  • To end a normal session, disconnect in AmneziaVPN. The paid-term status in your account records access entitlement; it does not check the live VPN connection. A website status change does not disconnect a saved configuration.

5. If something does not work

Windows reports an installation error

Record the exact error, Windows version and filename. Check the source, architecture and installation permissions. For MSVCP or AmneziaVPN-service errors, use the troubleshooting section of the official guide below; do not download individual DLL files from unrelated sites.

The key is rejected or incomplete

Copy the key for the intended device from your Nezapret account again. Replace the entire AmneziaVPN input without adding quotes, spaces or an ellipsis. If the error repeats, send support the error text and order number, without the key.

There is no key in my account

Check your account, order status and assigned access. Confirmed payment and completed key delivery are different states. If delivery is pending or the key is unavailable, send support the order number. Do not pay again to resolve an error.

The connection does not complete

Check internet access without the VPN. If it works, close other VPN apps and retry AmneziaVPN. If available, compare Wi-Fi with mobile data. Record the time, network type and error. Do not delete your only saved configuration for troubleshooting.

VPN is connected but websites do not open

Try several websites and compare after disconnecting the VPN in the app. If internet access is also unavailable without the VPN, check the underlying connection and the app's traffic-blocking settings. If preventing traffic outside the VPN matters to you, keep that protection enabled and send support your comparison results.

I want to connect another device

Nezapret requires a separately issued key for each device. For regular access, purchase an additional connection; for VIP, check assigned keys and the allowed device count. Ask support about the transfer procedure when replacing a device.
